Weddings

Sarah and Greg. Rittenhouse Square, Philadelphia. 2013

It was such a privilege and such fun to marry Sarah and Greg; and a tremendous honor to get to know them as friends. They are people of grace, elegance, fun and integrity. They are blessed and they surely are a blessing also.

It is an incredible and awesome privilege to walk with a couple as they prepare for wedding and marriage; to be a part of what will bless and strengthen them.

I am often asked “What will you say at our wedding?”. Sometimes the question is prompted by concern that the ‘sermon’ will be too long or too personal or aggressive. I can never say exactly what I will say because I wait to be inspired by some incident or conversation but I can always say this… the talk will not be one I have preached before, it will be appropriately amusing and it will always point the wedding couple and hearers to God or, at least, the spiritual dimension of all life.

Rev. Neale is incredible in every way. From meeting with us prior to our wedding to prepare us for entering into marriage, to the day of our wedding, to even after we were married; always offering support. His kindness, advice and sense of humor are something that will stick with me forever. My husband and I can’t express how truly wonderful Rev. Neale was as our wedding officiant, he made us feel comfortable from the first day we met him and quickly became a person we could confide in. We both look up to him and have the utmost respect. It was an honor to have him marry us but a bigger honor to get to know him as a friend! He cares deeply, gives wonderful advice, made our wedding ceremony so personal and can always make you smile!
