“What have you to do with peace?” 2 Kings 9:18,19

King Jehu was not known for serenity, measured pace but when faced with a perilous situation he was wise enough to check the “peace credentials” of those who came to meet him.

Sometimes at the onset, or in the midst, of controversial discussion it is wise to ask, “Am I, are you, really wanting peace/resolution now or is this the expression of a deeper frustration?”.

Remember, a “debate” is usually about “who is right”, a discussion about “what is right”.
