I do my best to ensure that there is a vital connection between me and the couple that I am about to marry. The connection should not be enlarged unrealistically suggesting that we all have been good friends for years – this is disrespectful to the couple and their guests.
But it is so essential that there is some connection evolving from conversation and appropriate openness; time and again I am told by wedding guests that the wedding was unique, very special, personal – in part this is because of developing a connection.

But sometimes the connection takes on a life of its own and I feel a particularly deep commitment to the couple. One such couple is Daria and Rob; years on we are still in touch and I feel a real joy to see current pictures of them and their children.
